Google has recently acquired the DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) in a pursuit to create a more friendly experience for the developers and operation ecosystem. DORA has been disrupting the development and operation cycle with its research-based solution that will complement the Google Cloud.
DORA has been able to reduce the operational barriers for the developers by the inducting automation, process, and cultural changes. It improved the quality of the software and also led to a better development process. Google Cloud has been more towards the solutions-based approach that contributed to the open source community by developing different software to understand the operational demands.
DORA in its annual State of DevOps reportedly has set a benchmark for the research in the sector alongside Puppet. In one the most recent reports for September it said that enterprises have developed enough in terms of innovations and challenges so that we can easily distinguish the performers from the group.
The acquisitions are not first of it’s kind and is regarded as one of the most important acquisitions. Over the past few months, Hewlett Packard bought RedPixie and Cloud Technology Partners apparently; this meant it will be able to solve the requirement for the users of both Amazon and Azure. The recent DevOps report also stated that Google Cloud is a prime partner for the DORA and the acquisitions seems to be a certain level of indifference.
Dr. Nicole Forsgren, DORA CEO and Chief Scientists said in a statement that “The best and most innovative enterprises today develop applications or software for more reliable and faster results. The people are excited to join the bigger enterprises that can help us deliver research-based DevOps practices to the developers. ”
