Google and OVHcloud are collaborating to co-create new cloud solutions designed for the European market.

OVHcloud, the French cloud computing provider, announced that this is a strategic partnership. It will concentrate on developing products suitable for Europe’s strict data security and privacy requirements, including the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

While Google is a globally known cloud solution provider, OVHcloud also has cloud, mainly in Europe. It operates over 400,000 servers and 31 data centers. The agreement will focus on French customers and European clients at large.

OVHcloud will introduce a new “Hosted Private Cloud” offering based on the integration of Google’s Anthos with its own infrastructure, under the management of European Cloud Provider.

“We are excited to sign our first partnership of this kind with OVHcloud,” commented Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud CEO. “Listening to our customers, partners, and policymakers in Europe, we understand their need for even greater control and autonomy. We address this in many ways and look forward to continuing to deliver on our customer commitments in a meaningful way.”

“We are proud to partner with Google Cloud to jointly deliver innovative solutions that will meet Europe’s growing requirements for data sovereignty. This is a significant step forward to create new value for the European Market. Combining cutting edge technologies for the developers’ community while strengthening a powerful ecosystem of players united by a common set of values is core to OVHcloud. This partnership opens the doors to wide new possibilities, we are therefore glad to enable it together,” declares Michel Paulin, CEO at OVHcloud.

The company has plans to create and look after an ecosystem that has third-party developers.

Google also mentioned newer regions of France, Poland, and Spain will experience the power of cloud.
