Spanugo platform will make provision for regulated industries to monitor compliance in real time.

IBM said it is acquiring Spanugo, which is a global leader in providing cybersecurity posture assurance for enterprise hybrid cloud. Spanugo provides security assurance software as it builds out a cloud portfolio for regulated industries.

The terms of the deal were not announced. However, Spanugo will give IBM Cloud a platform that will contribute to simplifying the compliance for various regulations and standards with the help of automation. IBM mentioned that it will merge the technology base of Spanugo and the public cloud so that customers can overview the compliance. Spanugo’s platform also helps in the deployment of a hybrid cloud.

Additionally, last year IBM spoke about the financial services ready cloud. So, the collaboration with Spanugo will support the effort and enable IBM Cloud to monitor compliance in real time. The technology will be mentioned under IBM’s financial services cloud.
