Cisco acquires a Santa Clara, California-based Kenna Security firm, a privately-held security firm providing solutions for vulnerability management. The amount spent on the deal is yet to be disclosed.

Cisco has come up with SecureX as a cloud-native platform to provide a unified view of customers’ environments so that they no longer need to jumble up between multiple dashboards while managing conflicting alerts or policies.

As part of the SecureX platform, Cisco Security aims to bring together threat and risk-based vulnerability management through this acquisition. This will also expand the platform experience and enable comprehensive scorecards to control security and threat response performance.

“Our goal is to unify all critical control points into a single platform. With the addition of Kenna Security, we will fundamentally strengthen our platform experience by giving customers the ability to prioritize vulnerabilities based on a robust risk methodology that is tuned to their unique needs,” stated Jeetu Patel, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cisco Security and Collaboration.

“As malicious actors continue to evolve their methods, we need to make it easier than ever for customers to predict, detect, prioritize and respond to the security threats that matter. The breadth and scale of Cisco coupled with Kenna Security’s mastery of machine-learning and data science will reshape how the entire industry addresses cyber risk,” said Karim Toubba, CEO of Kenna Security.

It was Cisco’s third acquisition for the week. The company had plans to announce its deals with Sedona Systems and Socio Labs earlier this week but have not yet let out the financial details.

Cisco’s fourth quarter of fiscal 2021 is expected to witness the closing of the acquisition.
