Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has extended its partnership with Intel Corporation to provide Check Point Harmony clients with enhanced anti-ransomware capabilities.

Under the terms of the agreement, the threat detection technology of the Intel vPro platform will be integrated into Check Point Harmony Endpoint. The combination affords businesses processor-level anti-ransomware protection at both the hardware and software layers at no additional expense.

Cybercriminals are becoming increasingly inventive in their attacks, which is a well-known issue. Check Point documented a 42% rise in intrusions worldwide in 2022, with ransomware highlighted as the greatest threat. The organization says that “prevention first” remains to be the best cybersecurity strategy because it might be difficult to recover the victim’s reputation after an assault.

Check Point Harmony Endpoint integrates with Intel’s Threat Detection Technology, available on the Intel vPro platform, to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). According to the organizations, with the ability to employ AI and ML, Harmony can examine processor telemetry and identify ransomware encryption commands early in the attack flow, increasing the barrier against advanced threats.

Combined, the service enhances consumer prevention and security by blocking endpoint threats by identifying, blocking, and remediating the complete attack chain.

Carla Rodríguez, vice president and general manager of Ecosystem Partner Enabling at Intel, said, “The Intel vPro platform contains hardware-based security features, including Threat Detection Technology specifically designed to detect ransomware and other advanced threats. When paired with Check Point’s security solutions, customers can be confident knowing their endpoints are better protected at both the hardware and software layers.”

Customers of Check Point benefit from processor-level security that begins at the silicon level and offers anti-ransomware capabilities that enable early prevention and extensive attack surface coverage.

Later this month, additional information, including better anti-ransomware capabilities through the cooperation, will be disclosed.
