SourceAmerica network nonprofits have issued a new financial assistance grant to help combat cybersecurity issues for the agencies holding government contracts. SourceAmerica forms a connection between government and corporate customers with a national network of about 700 nonprofit agencies. These agencies specifically work to hire a talented workforce segment of people with disabilities.
The SourceAmerica Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Grant has planned to support network nonprofits so that it could successfully navigate the new certification process at the U.S. Department of Defense to assess supporting contractors’ cybersecurity environment. This certification confirms that vendors, including nonprofits in the SourceAmerica network, have appropriate cybersecurity controls and policies in place to meet the Pentagon’s security requirements.
“Cybersecurity continues to be a top priority for all businesses operating in the federal government space,” said SourceAmerica Interim President and CEO Richard Belden. “The CMMC grant will provide support for this critical need and allow for nonprofits in the SourceAmerica network to contract directly with third-party vendors with cybersecurity expertise. These vendors will, in turn, provide the necessary guidance to the nonprofit agencies to enhance their own cybersecurity proficiencies needed to perform work for the Defense Department and all of its associated agencies.”
SourceAmerica generated this grant to help charities cover the costs of compliance with the CMMC standards, which the Department of Defense will enforce for all contracted work by the beginning of the fiscal year 2026.
