Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey has restated that Bitcoin and Blockchain technology is the future of his micro-blogging platform. He was interviewed by the Oslo Freedom Forum, an event-based entity under the wing of the Human Rights Foundation on YouTube.

In the interview, he spoke positively about crypto’s largest asset, Bitcoin. He said that the approach will work to keep the platform secure from hackers.

“Blockchain and Bitcoin point to a future, point to a world, where content exists forever. We’re not in the content hosting business anymore, we’re in the discovery business,” the Square and Twitter CEO said during the virtual Oslo Freedom Forum 2020.

Last year, Dorsey announced that a non-profit platform called Blue Sky will develop an open Twitter channel to allow users to contribute and access data.

“(Blue Sky) is a completely separate non-profit from the company (Twitter),” Dorsey said.

“We’ll focus on becoming a client of it so we can build a compelling service and business where anyone can access and anyone can contribute,” he added.

“You see this most fundamentally in Bitcoin and in Blockchain. The keys will be more and more in the hands of the individual,” he added.

Dorsey said: “I fundamentally believe that security is something that can never be perfected… it’s a constant race, it’s a constant push to be 10 steps ahead of hackers.”

“The whole spirit of Bitcoin, for instance, is to provide a trusted system in a distrusted environment, which is the internet, and those technologies will provide us new capabilities where we can do this internally as well and provide a lot more peace of mind.”

There is no secret about the love that Dorsey holds for cryptocurrency over the years. Also, Twitter is equally considering the feature that would allow users to tip one another in Bitcoins. The new social media platform is also working on a payment feature that will let people send each other money.

Overall, he mentioned that Bitcoin will make space for security and trust wherein the individuals will hold their keys and access to capabilities.
