A pan-Asia ch start-up dubbed TechNode Global that operates as a network for tech and innovation between China and Asia Pacific region recently obtained USD 1 million in seed round funding. Led by Kairous Capital (Hong Kong), the funding event witnessed participation from SPH Ventures (Singapore) and Nutty Capital Venture (Hong Kong).

The expenditure plan

TechNode, China’s leading innovation and entrepreneurship platform, plans to use the funds to accelerate its efforts to develop pan-Asia’s promising tech media platform. Furthermore, the start-up plans to cover more technology stories, work on comprehensive cross-border business across the region, and deliver high-quality events. The funding will also be used to expand the company’s footprint on an international level.

Introduced in early 2019 by Dr. Gang Lu (Founder and CEO of China’s foremost bilingual tech media TechNode), TechNode Global is more than just a media enterprise.

It is a company involved in developing a technology community platform that provides insightful news, organizes regional events, provides fundraising and deal flow support, and enables fundraising corporate-startup partnerships.

On the business front, the tech start-up has witnessed sizable growth since its inception. It has an elite clientele that includes businesses like Alibaba Cloud, Huawei, NTUC Income, and iFLYTEK.

The expanding cross-border commercial ties between China and the rest of Asia, specifically with Southeast Asia, pose a lucrative market opportunity as Chinese tech giants increase their expansion and investments in the region.

By spinning off from TechNode, TechNode Global deploys its focus and regional expertise to serve the Asia Pacific market better.

TechNode Global has been partnering with regional government agencies, significant community builders, and corporations such as Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Enterprise Singapore, Sunway Group, and more in hosting its flagship event, ORIGIN Conference, and other community initiatives.

TechNode Global currently has an office in Singapore and plans to set up a new one in Malaysia soon.
