Facility Managers are under the spotlight like never before The role has evolved so much to be almost unrecognizable to what it was even 10 years ago. In a post COVID world, occupants are alert to the impact buildings can have on their health and productivity. And with Sustainability at the top of the agenda for C-Suite, Facility Managers (FMs) need to have a clear understanding on how the operation of their building impacts Net Zero targets.
And some things have not changed, FMs are continually having to multi-task and problem solve on the go. One minute you are dealing with a power outage to a whole floor and the next you are having to figure out how to put on a breakfast to entice employees back to the office.
The pace of change is happening a lot quicker than 10 years ago, all driven by technology. Working in a reactive way makes it harder to stay on top of priorities especially when the scale of contractual and compliance obligations are increasing significantly.
New technologies have transformed our lives at work, in most cases making us more accountable and productive. Does technology have a role to play in transforming the lives of Facility Managers?
