Immuta, a data access and security pioneer, has announced a new native integration with business data warehouse Google BigQuery. This integration aims to provide users with extensive data access management and security capabilities for critical data housed in the Google Cloud environment. This enables data and compliance teams to complete BigQuery data initiatives fully without any security concerns.

Google BigQuery offers serverless analytics that is scalable, trustworthy, and dependable. Today, firms must ensure that only the appropriate individuals have access to appropriate data. Along with Immuta, customers of BigQuery enjoy automated data discovery capabilities, dynamic access and security restrictions, and continuous monitoring and reporting. This enables users to access and exchange sensitive data simply and securely while benefiting from greater interoperability within the Google Cloud ecosystem.

Mo Plassnig, Chief Growth Officer, Immuta, said, “Not only is data analytics a vital component to business innovation and growth, but it also plays a critical role in data security. Balancing effective data analytics and security is critical to remaining competitive in today’s data-driven market.”

Other key features of the integration include:

  • Discovery and categorization of data: This new combination enables users to identify and categorize data from various sources easily and tap pre-built or bespoke domain-specific classifiers with acceptable confidence intervals.
  • Authoring scalable BigQuery policies: Regardless of their technical expertise, security and compliance, stakeholders may use Immuta’s plain language policy builder to establish scalable policies for BigQuery that are simply understood.
  • Enforcement of data regulation in real-time: Immuta adds granular data security that extends beyond table-level restrictions to include row-, column-, and cell-level protection, all without being in the data flow. This allows users to query their data securely while adhering to even the most intricate laws and regulations. In addition, they can tap attribute-based access control (ABAC) to provide context-aware access choices at query time.
  • Provable compliance for Google BigQuery data usage: Teams can easily access and get insight into user behavior, policy activity and history, compliance and anomaly reports, alerts and notifications, and comprehensive audit logs for their compliance records. This streamlines the process of demonstrating compliance and can aid in identifying possible dangers or anomalies early, enabling proactive incident response.

Steve Touw, CTO of, Immuta, said, “As the number of users and the amount of data on cloud platforms like Google BigQuery continues to grow exponentially, so does the need for comprehensive data access control and data security capabilities. We’re excited to provide Google’s customers with the tools to conduct data analysis speed and security for enhanced business insights and results.”
