SolarWinds has acquired VividCortex, a leading provider of SaaS-delivered database performance management. The acquisition is mainly focused on several aspects of the currently increasing cloud-native applications that are designed to meet the needs of a wide range of customers.

Organizations are moving fast to deploy more cloud-native and hybrid applications and databases; technology professionals need to access both products designed to cover a range of databases for both on-premise and cloud-native environment. According to Gartner, 68% of the Database Management System (DBMS) growth will be in the cloud.

If businesses look at the current scenario of SolarWinds’ THWACK user community of over 150,000 registered members, most of the current businesses are just beginning their cloud migration journey. Currently, the businesses operate most of their applications or workload for IT on-premise and have adopted cloud only for certain applications. Businesses need to invest comprehensive solutions that offer better visibility for the entire hybrid IT environment, which should be regardless of the organization’s digital transformation journey.

Kevin Thompson, Chief Executive Officer at SolarWinds, said in a statement that for over 20 years, SolarWinds had been committed to delivering solutions to solve today’s IT management challenges. The company exactly knows what the clients and future customers wants; it knows the technology professionals it serves. Applications have become the core of any IT professional’s job and something they interact every day with to serve businesses, helping them grow and succeed. The new offering, combined with other leading database management products for Microsoft SQL and Oracle, extends SolarWinds’ coverage for monitoring these critical assets.

The VividCortex product offers a new dimension with a SaaS-based offering, which will be working in sync with the current solution of SolarWinds known as Database Performance Analyzer (DPA). DPA is an award-winning cloud-deployed and on-premise product, that is, a DPA solution for all types of businesses of different sizes.
